How to join The Hub

Connecting to a modded DayZ server takes a few minutes the first time and is instant afterwards. Here is the whole process for The Hub, from a fresh DayZ install to spawning on the coast.

Best Method : DZSA

If you prefer connecting by DZSA download launcher at https://dayzsalauncher.com/ and just copy the IP and paste it inside launcher.

Direct connect

If you prefer connecting by address rather than searching the list:

Before you start

  • A copy of DayZ on Steam (the standalone game, not the Arma 2 mod).
  • The game launched at least once, so the launcher has generated its config.
  • Roughly 5 GB of free space if the server runs mods you do not already have.

Connecting, step by step

  1. 1

    Subscribe to the required mods

Open the mod list below and subscribe to every entry on the Steam Workshop. Steam downloads them in the background; the DayZ launcher picks them up automatically once they finish.

  2. 2

Enable the mods in the DayZ launcher

Launch DayZ from Steam, open the MODS tab, and make sure every subscribed mod is ticked. A missing or disabled mod is the single most common reason a connection is refused.

  3. 3

    Find the server

In the SERVERS tab, switch to Community, then search for "The Hub". Adding the server to your favourites means you never have to search again.

  4. 4

    Connect and spawn in

Hit Join. The first load is slower because the game caches the mods. You will spawn on the coast with a starter kit — head inland when you are ready.

  5. 5

    Link your accounts

Connect your Discord on this site and link your Steam account from your account page. That is what unlocks the store, group colours and chat tags.

Required mods

The mod list is being finalised. Until it is published here, the pinned message in the Discord always holds the current version.

If the connection fails

The server rejects you at the loading screen

Almost always a mod mismatch. Re-check that every mod is subscribed AND ticked in the launcher, then verify the game files through Steam.

The server does not appear in the list

Clear your filters — a leftover map, ping or "not full" filter hides it. Searching the exact server name with all filters reset is the reliable way.

You get kicked shortly after spawning

Usually a partially downloaded mod. Unsubscribe and resubscribe to the mod in question, and let Steam finish before launching.

Still stuck?

Open a ticket on the Discord. Include your Steam name and a screenshot of the error — that is normally enough to solve it in one message.
